How it works
Every eSylvan program begins with a comprehensive Skills Assessment, to determine your child's strengths and skill gaps.
Guided by the results of the Skills Assessment, along with your insights about your child's needs, eSylvan's trained staff is able to create a personalized math or reading program specifically for your child.
The length of your child's program depends on the specific academic needs revealed by the Skills Assessment. eSylvan programs typically range from 40 to 120 hours of instruction.
When you enroll your child, you may choose an instructional schedule that best meets your family's needs. Online sessions last one hour. To accelerate progress, eSylvan recommends 2 to 4 hours of instruction per week.
Getting your child started with eSylvan is easy
eSylvan provides a starter kit that includes:
- the equipment needed for your home PC
- a quick reference guide
- A CD-ROM to guide you through the installation process
To ensure an easy installation process, their technical support team will schedule a telephone appointment to walk you through the process. eSylvan also provides free technical support, six days a week, for as long as your child is enrolled in one of the programs.
All you need to get started is a PC with Windows 98 or above with a 56K modem or faster. eSylvan works with most Internet Service Providers.
The eSylvan Guarantee
eSylvan is so confident in their online programs that they guarantee results. If your child scores a year or more below current grade level upon enrollment in eSylvan, eSylvan guarantees your child will improve at least one full grade level equivalent in their Academic Reading or Math Essentials program after 36 hours of instruction, or they will provide 12 additional hours of instruction FREE!
